Cooking Classes #

Time for Lime #

The original Thai cooking school on Koh Lanta, open since 2002. Located on Klong Dao Beach in an open-air beachfront setting with a pool. Classes run ~5.5 hours — you make curry paste, 2 starters, and 2 main courses, then eat what you cooked. A cocktail class is included in some packages. Recipes are sent home with you.

A portion of all profits goes to Lanta Animal Welfare, which rescues and treats stray animals on the island.

Prices:

  • Single experience: 2,000 THB/person
  • Cooking & Cocktail experience (pair): 4,000 THB for two
  • Partner package (pair): 3,400 THB for two
  • Children: 990 THB

Schedule: Monday–Saturday (closed Sunday)

Book directly at timeforlime.net — they prefer direct bookings so more goes to the animals.

Go-Karting #

Lanta E-GoKart #

A fun activity for adults and kids. Off season you can usually walk straight in; in high season it’s worth checking ahead. After each round you’re handed a little baby bottle to feed the koi fish, a cute touch that keeps the kids (and adults) coming back for another lap. Bring your own helmet if you have one.

Kayaking #

Mangroves #

Enter the mangroves, pay the 20b entrance fee, they will try to get you to rent from them or get a guide, ignore that. Then carry on past the toilet, over the bridge, there’s a little restaurant on the left that rents yellow/red kayaks for 500b for 2 hours

Massages #

  • Anchan - the best
  • Dreamy spa - also very good
  • Maneelanta - good budget option
  • Funky Fish - good beach option
