Honestly, you can’t go wrong with beaches on Lanta — the west coast has many beaches. What follows is a guide to how they differ so you can pick the right one for the day.
Khlong Dao Beach #
Khlong Dao Beach - The northernmost of the main beaches, closest to Saladan. A long, wide stretch of gently shelving sand that’s great for swimming and families, with plenty of restaurants, bars and resorts along the back. Recommended bar: Majestic bar
Long Beach (Phra Ae) #
Long Beach - Just south of Khlong Dao and, as the name suggests, very long. A popular base with lots of accommodation, beach bars and sunset spots, but still spacious enough to find a quiet stretch. Lym’s Bar is where most nomads go for sunset drinks.
Nui Bay #
Nui Bay - A small, beautiful cove reached by some steep steps. There are no real facilities here — sometimes there are monkeys, and sometimes someone selling drinks, but that’s about it. Come for the scenery and seclusion rather than amenities, keep an eye on your belongings around the monkeys, and bring what you need with you.
Beautiful Beach & Secret Beach #
Beautiful Beach - A gorgeous cove further south. Since 2026 there is a parking fee, and a gate that is closed at night, so plan around that if you’re heading out for sunset.
Secret Beach - Tucked in right next to Beautiful Beach. To reach it you park at Beautiful Beach and walk over — there’s no separate access — so the same parking fee and night gate apply. No facilities and no bars.
Kantiang Bay #
Kantiang Bay - A stunning bay much further south, backed by jungle hills and well worth the drive. While you’re there, don’t miss Why Not Bar, a really nice bar right by the beach. They often have a DJ after 17h and they also serve food from a nearby restaurant.
